When will the detailed schedule for each sport be available?
The detailed competition schedules for each sport will be published shortly after the final registration deadline. Once all entries have been verified, the Sports Department will prepare the competition draws and match schedules. All participating companies will receive the final schedules well in advance of the Games
General – Age groups.
Your year of birth determines your eligibility for an age category. For example, if you were born in October 1987, you are eligible to compete in the 40+ category during the ECSG 2027.
Teams – Do all players have to meet the age requirement?
Yes. For example, in the 40+ category, every player on the team must have been born in 1987 or earlier. This applies to all age-restricted team sports.
Teams – Can a team include employees from different companies?
No. All athletes representing a team must belong to the same company, in accordance with the EFCS eligibility regulations.
Can I participate in more than one sport?
No. Participation is limited to one sport only. However, in sports consisting of multiple events (e.g. Swimming or Athletics), athletes may compete in more than one event within the same sport.
Can I participate in more than one Team?
No. An athlete may only represent one team during the Games. A company may register multiple teams in the same sport, provided that no player appears on more than one roster.
Should I bring my own equipment?
For racket sports and Pétanque, athletes are expected to bring their own personal equipment. Basic equipment will be available from the Organising Committee if required, subject to availability.
Golf – Is there a limit to the number of golf participants?
Yes. The Golf tournament is limited to 100 participants.
Tennis – Is tennis only for doubles?
Yes. Tennis, Squash and Table Tennis competitions will be held exclusively in doubles format.
Will Beach Volleyball matches have referees?
Referees will officiate the semi-finals and finals. During the preliminary rounds, matches will be officiated by players from the previous match under the supervision of the Venue Officials.
Will referees be provided for all sports?
Official referees will be appointed for all team sports and for the final stages of Beach Volleyball. In Tennis, Squash, Table Tennis and Padel, a Chief Official will supervise the competition and assign match officials where required.
How will transportation to the sports venues be organized?
Athletes are encouraged to use Athens’ public transportation network (Metro, Tram, Electric Railway and Buses). For venues not directly accessible by public transport, the Organising Committee will provide dedicated shuttle buses for accredited athletes.
When will the final sport venues be confirmed?
All sport venues will be confirmed and published after the registration period has closed and the number of participants has been finalized.
Can spectators attend the competitions?
Yes. All competitions are open to spectators unless otherwise specified by the Organising Committee or the venue management.
What happens if a match is delayed?
The Sports Department reserves the right to modify the competition schedule due to weather conditions, technical issues or unforeseen circumstances.
Will medals be awarded in every sport?
Yes. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded in all official sports and categories.
Are medical services available at the venues?
Yes. First Aid and medical assistance will be available at every competition venue throughout the Games.
Where can I find the competition rules?
The Technical Regulations for each sport will be available on the official ECSG Athens 2027 website before the Games.
What happens in case of bad weather?
Outdoor competitions may be postponed, rescheduled or relocated where possible. Any changes will be communicated immediately through the official ECSG communication channels.
Is personal insurance provided by the Organising Committee?
No. Participants are responsible for their own health, travel and accident insurance unless otherwise stated in the event regulations.
How can I stay informed during the Games?
The latest schedules, results, announcements and venue information will be available through the official ECSG Athens 2027 website and the official event application.
Can the competition schedule change after publication?
Yes. While every effort will be made to maintain the published schedule, the Organising Committee reserves the right to make changes when necessary.
What happens if I register but do not attend the Games (No Show)?
If you do not attend the ECSG ATHENS 2027 without having cancelled your registration in accordance with the official Cancellation Policy, you will be considered a No Show. In this case, no refund of the registration fee will be provided and all registration benefits, (accreditation, participation rights, welcome package, transportation services, ceremonies, social events and any other included services) will be missed.
What happens if my opponent does not appear for a scheduled match?
A team or athlete failing to appear within 15 minutes of the scheduled starting time, unless otherwise specified in the sport regulations, shall forfeit the match by walkover (WO).
